AllWriteNow - About VarunaTM Pen Company
Hand made ebonite Fountain Pens from India
India is one of the last places on Earth where a generations-old tradition of artisan fountain pen making is still holding on, against all odds, in the face of what some people call "progress."
Located in Rajamundry, VarunaTM Fountain Pens are produced by a third-generation, family-owned firm whose skilled artisans work every
day on the sixty-year-old machines that were installed at the company's founding.
VarunaTM Fountain Pens are unapologetically traditional writing instruments, styled in the vintage idiom. They are handmade by craftsmen using equipment that is rarely seen in the modern penmaking world. Barrels, caps, sections and feeds are turned from the most classic of materials: ebonite, in a range of interesting, subdued color schemes and patterns reminiscent of the pens produced in the 1920s and 30s, but with a modernized aesthetic.
When we learned that these wonderful pens were not available outside India, we took a deep breath and dove directly into the deep end of the pool, finding (or inventing) ways around the hurdles that stood between the pens and a world community of eager writers. We are proud, today, to be the exclusive representatives of VarunaTM Fountain Pens in North America.
We are certain that, once you try VarunaTM Fountain Pens, you will be as impressed with their quality as we are!
